If you need assistance enrolling a new student or with a continuing student online registration during the summer recess, a Parent Information Help Center will be open Monday thru Thursday at the District Office beginning on July 1st and running until August 5th. The district office is located at 5715 Musick Ave. in Newark. 
Birch Grove offices will open to the public beginning on Tuesday, August 6th. 

If you have not yet completed your online registration for your continuing student or your new student enrollment, please do so ASAP! If your student is not present on the first day of school Thursday, August 15, 2019, you run the risk of losing their space at Birch Grove.

Online Enrollment for 2019-2020 is now open!

If you have a child turning 5 years old on or before September 1, 2019, he/she is eligible for Kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year. If your child turns 5 between September 2, 2019 and January 31, 2020 they are eligible for our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Program.

Online registration will begin on February 19, 2019 for all new students. Enrollment packets will be available and must be filled out online at http://register.newarkunified.org. After the enrollment packet is done online you will need to bring additional documentation into the office to complete your child’s enrollment. Please click below for a list of what is needed.

2019-2020 Intra-district Open Enrollment (click here for form)

Requests for registered students to change schools WITHIN Newark Unified will be accepted at the District Office through Friday, March 1, 2019. An Open Enrollment request must be completed for each student. Open Enrollment requests are NOT accepted at the school sites.

2019-2020 Interdistrict Transfer (click here for form: English | Spanish)

Requests to transfer INTO or OUT OF Newark Unified may be submitted to the District Office beginning Friday, March 1, 2019.Interdistrict Transfer requests are NOT accepted at the school sites.

Ohlone for Kids and Teens offers academic and special interest enrichment classes for students in grades 3-11. Students can engage in hands-on learning activities including Arts/Performing Arts, Language Arts, English, Math, Reading, LEGO Robotics, Electronics, Science, Social Studies, and SAT/College Preparation.

League of Volunteers is offering FREE summer recreation for Newark residents ages 5-12.

The program runs June 17-27 and July 8 – August 1, 2019 (closed the week of the July 4), on Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Registration is available at www.lov.org starting May 1, 2019 on a first come, first served basis. Processing fees are $10/child.
